Drivers

Driver
guidelines.

What we expect from everyone who drives under the TransAfrica fleet — safety, professionalism, and a clear partnership.

These guidelines apply to drivers operating company vehicles or otherwise representing TransAfrica Mobility Ltd. They sit alongside any driver agreement, shift rules, and local traffic law. If something is unclear, ask operations before you act.

  • Keep identification and onboarding documents current; report changes immediately.
  • Pass and remain in good standing with our verification and background checks where we run them.

  • Inspect the assigned tricycle at the start and end of shift; report damage, faults, or safety issues before rolling out.
  • Follow fuelling, cleaning, and parking instructions from the fleet team.
  • Return keys, equipment, and the vehicle on time at handover; do not lend the vehicle to unauthorised persons.

Safe driving

  • Obey speed limits, signals, and local traffic regulations at all times.
  • Do not drive under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or impairing medication.

  • Respect passenger capacity limits and load rules for the vehicle.

Passenger service

  • Treat passengers and colleagues with respect; zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination.
  • Confirm destination and route fairly; use official pricing and trip recording as instructed.
  • Assist passengers with reasonable accessibility needs where it is safe to do so.

Shifts and availability

  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts; notify operations promptly if you cannot attend.
  • Remain logged or dispatched only while authorised and fit to drive.
  • Do not sublet or “sell” your shift slot to another person without written approval from TransAfrica.

Payments and cash handling

Follow the company’s procedures for fares, digital payments, and any permitted cash handling. Discrepancies must be reported immediately. Fraud or theft will lead to termination and may be reported to authorities.

Safety incidents and emergencies

In an accident, injury, or security threat, prioritise safety, contact emergency services where needed, then notify TransAfrica through the designated channel. Cooperate with lawful investigations and insurance processes.

Confidentiality

Do not disclose passenger personal data, investor information, or internal operational details except as required for the job or by law.
